A grand new adventure for The Writer's Ink :)

Well good morning my lovely and dear friends. :) For almost three years I have written to you on this beloved blog. I've shared my heart, my thoughts, my fears, my joys, my dreams and hopefully I have encouraged you in your journey along the way. And now I can't believe today is my last post on this little blogger blog! It's faithfully delivered so many messages to you, straight from my heart... but today friends, today is the first day of a brand new season!

Yep that's right! It's an exciting day today for The Writer's Ink! It's website launch day :) For the past eight months I have been working on this project, getting ideas, mulling over them, and seeing them explode in bursts of creativity has been overwhelming, better than I expected. Creating is such crazy process, so fun and wild, yet so delicate. And actually seeing these tiny seeds of dreams come together into a finished project is something I am so happy to see. With the help of some VERY talented friends in Mark Peric, website designer extraordinaire (along with being fabbo at every other creative talent you could think of), and Rachel McCarthy, designer, stylist, entrepreneur and business wonder woman... (+ quite a few hours from myself I'm proud to say!)... today I am excited to launch The Writer's Ink's brand new website!

Stay tuned for 7pm (Melb time) this evening when the site will be going live!

Sometimes when you have the initial sparks of a dream, it doesn't feel real, or seem as if it will ever happen. But as you keep sowing time into it, letting your heart lead you and inspire you, God breathes his life into it and the creativity just flows. So here we are entering a new season! I'm excited... for ALL of us. We are on a journey together, and I am cheering you on all the way. So thank you dear friends, from the bottom of my heart, for all the love and support you have shown me over the years... here's to a new season starting... today. :)

Have a beautiful weekend!

Love Nat

Dreams, dreams and sparkly friends.

Often when you're preparing to step out and do something great, things can feel a little intense. You're going against the grain and pioneering a NEW way, and sometimes it can feel like you're walking blind and you have no idea what you're doing. Thoughts of comparison and fear try and creep in and masquerade themselves as your actual thoughts (LIARS!) but as we forge ahead in our dreams, there is a gift God so generously gives us to strengthen and help us along our way.
Wonderful, amazing and sparkly friends! :)

It's 4 days until the launch of the brand new www.thewritersink.com.au. I've been working on it for six months now, it's a huge passion of mine and has been on my heart for a very long time. I can't actually believe it's happening. As with anyone believing for a dream to come to fruition, there have definitely been times I have experienced feelings of overwhelm, as well as quite a few "what the heck am I doing, is this dream too big?!" moments. :) BUT... I also know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is a dream God has placed in my heart. He's created me to do it and he's also given me some extravagant encouragers along the way, all wrapped up in some dear and wonderful (and very sparkly!) friends :)
BIG dreamers need wonderful friends. I can say that with confidence and conviction. Best friends love you and celebrate with you when the dream is close, and they cheer you on in times when the dream feels impossible. So no matter where you are with your dreams, surround yourself with great friends because they can encourage your heart so deeply :)

Sometimes it's just chatting...
Sometimes it's cracking up laughing...
Or it could be just walking...

Or just sharing life...

True friends always, always encourage your dreams, and your heart.

This is one of my most faaaavourite verses in the bible (Proverbs 17:22) and it's so true. How blessed are we that no matter what is going on in life, whatever we are going through, no matter how near or far our dreams may feel, spending time with friends is suchhhh a blessing. And if you find yourself needing a few more of these little blessings, just ask our great God and he will send them your way. I can tell you from experience, praying for friends absolutely works. Try it and see :)

So lovely dreamer... surround yourself with sparkly and fabulous friends this week, encourage one another and stir up the dreams because the world needs what YOU have to give! :)

Thank YOU for your encouragement in this website journey. :)
4 sleeps to go!!

Friday Fashionista :: { Floral and Leopard }

Who loves a good leopard print? Yep I hear ya... I can recognise your passionate screams coming in from all directions shouting... "me me me!" And why wouldn't we love it? It's classy, it's classic and in one swift move it turns an outfit from casual to chicSo why, my friends, is it that leopard print looks good with practically everything?

One word. Neutral. That's right peeps. Leopard is actually considered a "neutral colour". So along with it's plainer friends, black, white, beige and grey... leopard looks fab practically any colour palate. So whether you're pairing it with jeans and a white tee, or a rocking it with floral number (hello stunning dress above!), basically you're going to look amazing. So it's official, leopard is your new BFF. Brilliant. X

What did you think? Pretty slick hey ;) Bit of fun for our Friday! :) I'm still a tadddd excited as it's birthday week for me, and the celebrations are continuing tonight with a family dinner... Annnddd I may have booked a sneaky night in a hotel to splurge :) Well it only comes around once a year so why not I say?!

Anyway, have a fab this weekend my friends, why do something you've never done before!

Sunday 8 February 2015

Refreshed by the overnight stop.

Hi friends :) I thought I would share my heart a little with you today. I've been praying for clarity in a few areas of my life, because like so many of you, I feel like I am still in a season of transition. Don't get me wrong, there are so many wonderful things to be thankful for in my life, however when certain areas are hidden, it can be difficult to move forward and discouragement and confusion can try and take over. Do you ever else feel like this?
But... in this time of waiting, on days when we think we can't go on another moment, God in all his kindness and extravagance, pours out hope. Ah hope. Life-giving and strength-bringing. Hope refreshes and restores us and gives us the strength to believe again. :)
Did you know, that even when we feel hopeless, our dreams are still there in all their fullness. No matter how we feel or how dark the days get, our dreams are are always always there, faithfully bubbling away, waiting for us and cheering us on.
I was chatting with a friend of mine the other night and we were talking about hope, and how amazing it is, and how we literally cannot go on without it. Think about it, imagine life with no hope? Our souls would just faint and fade away to nothing. But God is relentless in his goodness, he sees every cry of our hearts and every weary tear we shed, and right at the perfect moment, he gives us hope.
I had this funny picture as I was trying to rationalise how precious hope is, and how beautiful it is on our journey through life. When I was little my family would take road trips to Queensland each year. We would always break up the journey with two stops, normally at West Wyalong in New South Wales, and Goondiwindi just over the Queensland border (I know some of you are nodding and smiling cos you have done this too!). If we had taken the entire trip with no breaks we would have been pretty exhausted, and it also would have been pretty dangerous. So we always stopped twice overnight so we wouldn't have to tackle the whole journey in one go.
Anyway, I was thinking about this as an analogy for hope. :) Hope is like stopping overnight on a long journey. Rather than driving for 20 hours straight and 'pushing through', an overnight stop refreshes and revives us for the next leg of the journey. This is what hope does. Just when our hearts feel like they can't take anymore, and life feels like 'too long a drive' he stops us and pours out a brand new river of hope. It restores our weary souls, brings us clarity and peace and gives us new strength for the next leg of our journey.
Living life without hope is almost impossible to imagine. Think about it. Aren't you so thankful for it? No matter how dark the season, or how confusing things feel the there is always the promise of hope. As I am writing these words I actually have a horrible headache, but I had these words in my spirit and I had to put them down. I have so many wonderful things happening in my life, so much to be thankful for, but there are also many things that are unclear to me at the moment. It can be hard to move ahead when you can't see the road clearly, but hope always calls us forward. His promise is that "he knows the plans for us, plans for a hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11) so I choose to hold onto that promise, breathe and take another step, even when I might not be able to see what's around the corner.
So I pray for all of us today. :) You are so dear to me, and I pray that as you are reading these words that you would be filled with fresh and abundant hope today. That something would shift in your life to refresh your soul and make your spirit leap. Our faithful God sees all we need and his promise for us is sure.
"I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit"
(Romans 15:13)

So let's stick together, encourage one another this week and release hope like never before. :)

Love you my friends and I am cheering you on :)
