Friday Fashionista :: Tan and gold.

So I'm excited to launch Friday Fashionista :: a new blog series I will be featuring on a Friday a couple of times a month. I'm excited to be exploring different styles and sharing them with you! Today's feature is something I am loving at the moment - tan and gold!
Oh to have a Celine Tote..
Great casual vibe..
No such thing as too many bags.. or bangles and bracelets.
Camel coat + tan boots = fab.
 Classic and sophisticated.
And the fur coat tops it off..
Casual nautical stripes dressed up with these glam gold pretties. Hello!
And finishing this week's Friday Fashionista is a deluxe sea of gold swimming around this Brioni gold cuff. Matches perfectly with this camel dress and tan belt don't you think? Hmmm.. wonder what shoes she is wearing! So, if you have any ideas for this series please let me know and I will do my best to create your very own personal themed 'fashion collection'! :)

Have a beautiful weekend my friends. Next week is birthday week for me yippee!!
Ten sleeps to go and counting!

5 Minute Vacation :: J'aime Paris

Now I know I have done some posts on Paris in the past, but come ON.. can we really ever have enough of Paris? No way. Today I am dedicating this blog to a very dear friend of mine who is about to embark on an exciting new journey and I am thrilled to celebrate her today (I hope she knows who she is). She did request a few weeks a go that I write a blog on Paris, so here you go beauty.. off we go!!
In my next house I would like a Mansard roof just like these ones in Paris.
One little birdie sitting pretty.. and one little birdie soaring in the air..
Here's where you will be staying during your time in Paris.
Looking out from this balcony..
You'll wander through the markets and pick out a few of these lovelies for your hotel room..
Sit down and enjoy a coffee (no takeaways in Paris!).. and of course a chocolate croissant..

Head back to your hotel room for lunch on the balcony..
before afternoon tea at the Ritz Carlton!
Pure decadence. And look at that garden in the background.. Stunning.
Then you'll grab another late afternoon coffee on the terrace of your hotel..
Before heading out for an extravagant dinner at the gorgeous Le Petit Châtelet.

Have a beautiful day and see you in Paris!

In the eye of the beholder.

I first fell in love with New York City when I was a little girl. Then, thirteen years ago, as my dear friend and I explored the sights and sounds of this captivating city, we knew it was  something that would change and inspire us forever. A few weeks ago she lent me a stunning documentary and yesterday I watched it. The film: "Bill Cunningham New York".
To say I was inspired is an understatement. A man of beauty and grace, this 83 year old New York Times fashion photographer and journalist, full of passion and enthusiasm, has been capturing the beauty he witnesses on the streets of New York City for over three decades.
Sounds kinda like something else I have read before...

We all perceive things differently. Some are inspired by art, some by music, others by design, people, the list is endless. Our eyes are made up of so much more than a pupil, a lens, a retina and all the many other intricacies that make up this incomprehensible mechanism with which we see -- it's so much more than that. It's not about what we see, it's about what we see. :)
What do you see? Everything is beautiful in its time.. so what is beauty to you? With so many different opinions and ideas of what is beautiful, who wins? And how do we decide? Who judges and comes up with the answer? Well, the answer is, everyone is a winner. Everyone's view of beauty is different, unique and important. Tell me, what was the most beautiful thing you saw over the weekend?

PS - highly recommend you watch this documentary!

Annnnddd... rest day.

Happy Australia Day holiday :) Can I just say.. how good is a day off?! Maybe you're working today (hopefully earning some good $$ if you are!!) but regardless, you know what I mean right?? It's just that 'ahhhhh' feeling of rest that comes with a day off?
Why do we LOVE that feeling of rest so much? It's because in that place, we flourish. :) We dream.. we create.. we go on adventures.. we have fun.. we run .. and we're free.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden..
and I will give you rest.
So my theme for 2013 is..

REST - RELAX - FUN - ADVENTURE

Have a great day whatever you are up to. :)

Interior Love :: Back to Bermuda

As promised, I am following up on yesterday's blog with some more fabulous beach house pics. If you loved the interior of our gorgeous Bermuda holiday home.. check out the exterior.
Palm trees are the finishing touch to this stunning holiday home.
Sitting in adirondack chairs and sunbaking IN the water is just so much better.
What a view. Loving the outdoor kitchen. And that golf course is the perfect backdrop for this unforgettable home.
And there she is again. The kitchen. Drawers upon drawers, cupboards, shelves and enough bench space to land an aeroplane! Ok so the reservation is for this weekend so..... I'll meet you all there?!

Happy weekend friends!

Interior Love :: Classic Bermuda Style

This home just makes me go ahhhhhhhhh. I love the white.. I love the light..
and I love the clean, fresh holiday feel it oozes.
This is the master bedroom with so many windows it's ridiculous!
LOVE the sitting room and private balcony.. and the lamps.. and the plantation
shutters. Ah. Too much.
The splashes of black break up the white nicely. And high gloss tiles = very glam.
I just think every home needs pillars.. Don't you agree?!
Hello dream kitchen. Imagine the soirees waiting to be hosted here!
This just makes me happy! So white, fresh and summery. The green of the grass, the blue of the cushions as well as the little pop of yellow in the flowers provide just enough colour for this stunning scene. This gorgeous home in Bermuda is designed by John McDonald Co. Stay tuned for the remainder of the house.. on the blog tomorrow. :)

Have a great day and keep cool if you're in Melbourne!

What are you putting your hope in?

What does hope feel like? Do you actually realise when you have hope? Do you notice when you don't have it? I know for me, when I have hope, I feel joyful. Do you know why? It's because hope and joy are reeeally good friends. They love hanging out! Wherever hope is, there you'll find joy. And when you see joy.. well just look around and you will be guaranteed to see her great friend hope! :)
So why is it that when we feel hopeful, we feel joyful? And when we have joy, we have hope in our hearts and nothing seems impossible?! Well for me, it's about what I'm focusing on. Whatever we focus on we become. And I find when I'm focusing on things that overwhelm me, and freeeaking me out, I just keep feeling overwhelmed. But when I shift my focus to the One who is hope and joy, despite how it may look in the natural.. when I just keep looking up.. keep declaring.. and keep getting in His Presence.. it's then that the joy comes.. like a flood. And then, as always like a faithful friend, along comes hope. :)
So let us keep lifting our eyes, because the hope-bringer and the joy-releaser
is also the freedom-giver. :)

Have a beautiful day!

Beauty and grace.

I stumbled upon this image yesterday and it absolutely captivated me. The magnitude of beauty and grace exuding from these three little princesses astounded me, the strength.. the poise.. the perfection and concentration.. yet appearing so effortless and graceful. The hours of practice.. the dedication.. the passion, all of it spoke to me in one moment from this single photograph. It made me think, that just like these little girls, so talented and inspiring, we each carry inside us sooooo many amazing unique gifts and abilities to inspire others. Just as I look at these little ladies, I am challenged.. to open my eyes wider.. and to see the beauty and grace in those around me.
This is Cody below..
He's nine years old and although he hasn't got full use of his legs, there is nothing that can stop him achieving what's set in his heart. What a champion! His philosophy: Nothing is impossible! Imagine what this planet would be like if we were ALL flourishing, thriving and operating fully in the gifts and purposes God created us for.
When we flourish in our giftings, we release joy. When we do what we're created to do, we exude beauty and grace. And it blesses other people. Do you know how amazing you are?! You are a walking miracle! A masterpiece, created specifically, intricately, with a very special purpose in mind. And I pray you would truly know what that is! :)
For he chose you in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined you for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given you in the One he loves.

Beauty and grace all around today. :)

Those who wait...

My Grandpa was such an amazing man. He loved God with all his heart and was one of the most generous, loving, affectionate, encouraging people I have ever known in my life. I miss him so much on this earth, but know I will see him again one day. His knowledge of the bible was inspirational. We have a video of him reciting (ever so dramatically!) his favourite scripture of all time. Now, every time I read Isaiah 40, I hear his theatrical voice, declaring it word for word with such passionate intonation, truly and without question believing every word he was saying.
Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom!
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint. :)
I hope this encourages you too. Whatever it is you need strength for today,
our wonderful God has it ready for you, just wait on Him. :)

Happy sunny Thursday!
